Susan Dix Lyons, EDAC, Co-Founder and CEO
Susan Dix Lyons has over two decades of leadership experience, working in the areas of healthcare, media, and design. She is the Founder of Clinica Verde, a global healthcare organization started to create a prototype of a new model of care for families living in poverty in Nicaragua, which now serves over 10,000 patients per year. Clinica Verde was selected in 2016 as a Classy Finalist as one of the most innovative social impact organizations of the year, and is now partnering with the Ministry of Health of Nicaragua to bring its model of care to rural health posts. Susan also served as President and CEO of St. Helena Hospital Foundation and was co-Founder and Design Director of The Better Lab, a venture located at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital that uses design to study and fix healthcare challenges. In 2014 Susan was honored as an Unsung Hero of Compassion by the 14th Dalai Lama. She served as a Lecturer and Fellow at the Hasso Plattner Institute of Design at Stanford University (d.school) in 2014-2015, where she spent the year immersed in the study and application of human-centered design. Susan is fiercely passionate about the care and environment provided patients – particularly vulnerable populations. She’s grateful every day for a life of purposeful work and the big love of family.
